Infrastructure development is a top national priority for Mongolia, driven by the need to move mineral exports efficiently, reduce logistics costs, and modernise rapidly growing urban centres — particularly Ulaanbaatar, which hosts over 45% of the national population.

Key investment corridors include the North–South railway connecting Russian and Chinese borders (the "Iron Silk Road"), road upgrades across the mining provinces of Ömnögovi, Dundgovi, and Khentii, Ulaanbaatar urban rail and housing projects, and development of the New Khushig Valley International Airport area as a logistics hub.

Mongolia's Construction Law, Public-Private Partnership Law, and the Infrastructure Investment Fund provide multiple entry channels for foreign contractors and investors. EPC, design-build, and BOT models are all supported, with government-backed guarantees available for priority national projects.
